Advocate for humanity, doing less in life and having unconditional positive regard for all people (no matter how hard I must sometimes grit my teeth).

I’ve reached seventy and I’m going on seventeen. The older I am, the less I know – and the happier I am. I am all the ages I have ever been. I’ve done many things and got very many of them wrong at one time or another. But with great age comes the freedom of great irresponsibility, to say what’s true and talk about what matters without fear of consequences.

I don’t do any of this to change the world or to gain fame and certainly not to make a fortune. I’m not attached to any outcome.

I do it because it’s the right thing for me to do – the right way of thinking, the right words to say here and now, and it’s all I have left.

This is why I write.

I’m a self-taught painter in my fifties.  I first picked up a paintbrush three years ago and quickly found myself in the throes of a deep love affair with abstract painting. 

My practice is playful, intuitive, and experimental.

Bold colour combinations, spontaneous gestures, and drama, feature heavily.

I paint the poetry of the soul - raw things and deep things and frivolous things, wild, chaotic things, and tame, harmonious things.  I resist any notion of being predictable or contained.

My paintings generally appeal to the dreamers, the deep-thinkers, and the darers, and they hang in homes all over the world.

I'm Sara, your bird in the booth - the voiceover booth, that is. The studio's been my second home since 1989. In fact, you've probably heard me somewhere before - on your TV, radio, online, and in all sorts of weird and wonderful places all over the world!

Away from the studio? You'll find me holding an ink-spattered quill, writing*. Oh, and herding a hilarious whippet named Neville Longbottom - a quiet, goofy hero who lives up to his name - and is banned from said studio for theft!

I do what I do to make you feel something, to stir your soul, to connect. Because, in the words of Maya Angelou, "...people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
